RE: SMOKERS' HATCHES - Peter Naulls - 05-12-2018 Just for completeness I'll point out that later cars (Rubies) had a different pattern where the outer, fixed part is cast aluminium or mazak - with a gutter section to it. I'm not sure when the change over took place but I suspect sometime during Mk1 Ruby production. Peter. It may be of interest that the one on my car has no glass in it. The lid is just painted steel.
