Laystall crankshaft - Henry Harris - 15-05-2021 Laystall crankshaft for sale on Ebay.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154453445505?hash=item23f6248b81:g:yA0AAOSwaYtgnuDo RE: Laystall crankshaft - Stuart Giles - 16-05-2021 That's interesting, the only other one I've seen was broken across the rear web. The one listed would make a great (if rather pricy) decor item. But I think I'd rather put that £1600 towards a 1 1/2" Phoenix crank and rods if I was actually going to put it into a motor. RE: Laystall crankshaft - dickie65 - 16-05-2021 Thats why I have a Hadley crank and rods waiting to go into a Nippy crankcase. Not a lot more money in the grand scheme of things. RE: Laystall crankshaft - Jack in the Box - 16-05-2021 Stuart, I wondered if you were referring to the one shown in the attached 'photo. According to the diaries of Harold Biggs, half of this crank came from a broken Holland Birkett engine and half was made new by Laystall to suit. Do you think my unbroken half is worth £800? Only joking. Alan RE: Laystall crankshaft - Robert Foreman - 16-05-2021 Interesting but really only as a museum piece. With the Austin rods having an inherent fault with the little end if they aren't worn then they soon will be. RE: Laystall crankshaft - Alan - 16-05-2021 On the other hand, if someone started making new ones, pressure fed and in 1.5inch I might just be interested. (Hint) RE: Laystall crankshaft - Tony Betts - 16-05-2021 hi alan, you could always get some made yourself, and offer them to the rest of us. tony RE: Laystall crankshaft - Tony Betts - 16-05-2021 hi alan, you could always get some made yourself, and offer them to the rest of us. tony RE: Laystall crankshaft - Alan - 16-05-2021 Might have to - I have a drawing somewhere I think RE: Laystall crankshaft - Charles P - 16-05-2021 That would be a fun project Alan. Suitable for my never ending 10 stud crankcase endeavour C |
