Mystery behind the dashboard - Ivor Hawkins - 22-04-2021

i may be being a complete twit (it wouldn’t be the first time) but I’ve found this behind the dashboard, no electrical connections or drillings, just a thin spun metal thing mounted on a bracket.

Does anyone have any idea what it is?

Thanks in advance fellas, I’m relying on your extraordinary knowledge and expertise to unravel this mystery!

Looks like the outer shell of a flasher unit.

+1 for Reckers.

Is it mentioned on the Patents Plate ???

It is!

Ahaa! I’m being a twit, the car didn’t have flashers fitted as far as I was aware, but that’s exactly what it is, thanks chaps!

I presume there must be a picture attached to the first post of this thread? Any one any idea why I don't see it?

Same problem, cant see any photo.

My fault, I inadvertently deleted it!
Updated now and yes, it was an old flasher unit that for some reason had its innards removed.

How disappointing, I had hoped the previous owner might have been a stoner! It looks like an ingenious place to hide a 35mm film canister used as a stash box?
