The above photograph shows the new sealed bearing in position. Some Austineers in Australia rely on the sealing features of this sealed bearing and do not add the additional oil seal in place of the original  felt seal.  I have decided to use a seal in conjunction with the sealed bearing. The cost is minimal to add this extra protection.

The above photograph shows the complete assembly with the sealed bearing and oil seal in position. The new grade 8 HT wheel studs are also welded in position. If using HT materials, care should be taken to use the correct welding material between the HT steel and the mild steel found on the hub plate. Using the incorrect welding material can result in this weld breaking over time. An alternative is to silver solder these studs in position. One other point to remember - prior to fitting the new wheel studs, the faces of the hub should be checked and refaced if need. The recessed portion of the of the hub that accommodates the new oil seal should also be checked for size and centring. All machining is carried out relative to the hub surface that takes the OD of the bearing.
